THE MADE FOR SOMETHING MORE PROJECT CONTINUES
It's all about writing and singing songs devoted to causes I care about and connecting audiences with nonprofits doing work in those fields! But I've re-named it, "Songs for Social Justice." This year I've teamed up with organizations who protect the environment, assist immigrants, empower women, feed the community with nourishing local food, connect volunteers to seniors, and encourage recycling. It's happening in Fort Collins.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS  - THE RAGPICKER'S DREAM & SILENT NIGHT MEDLEY
Every year at Christmas my dad used to sing this beautiful narrative song written by Mark Knopfler. After he passed away I learned it and felt reconnected to him through the process. Also, I'm having a little holiday sale! Buy your copy of Live at Etown Hall (which features this song) and your order will be shipped with a surprise watercolor print as well. Check it out -->

Dear Friends,

Happy Holidays and Big Show Announcement!

It's my favourite one of the year, too! Here's the poster for the 2nd annual version of "Made for Something More", which I've renamed to "Songs for Social Justice" ... and it's the time when I get to dedicate musical selections to a handful of hardworking nonprofits and their wonderful causes. This time the show is being presented at Bas Bleu Theatre Company in Fort Collins, Colorado. Save Saturday, Dec 29th for us, and make sure to come at 6:00pm to meet the nonprofits in the lobby before the show and hear about their current projects.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance here: www.basbleu.org/special-events/

Enormous gratitude to Bohemian Foundation for making this possible. Greg Schochet on Tele, Damon Smith on drums. We'll be talking about ten great causes, from land and water conservation to the #metoo movement. Please spread the word!

And in the meantime, I'll be playing tonight in Corrales, New Mexico! I'm writing to you now from a beautiful hacienda, just a stone's throw from San Ysidro Church. And oh, how I've missed it here! The colors, the culture, the food! the rough-around-the-edges neighborhoods, the wandering dogs, the wabi-sabi signs of ever present death and resurrection!

And oh! the feeling to drive down New Mexico's sunbaked straight highways! Or to watch from a thicket of coyote willows the slow and rolling Rio Grande, or to wander the bosque: that crooked cottonwood oasis in an ever expanding desert. And the hot pink glow of the dying day!!!

Corrales is one of the gems of the state. You can still RSVP for tonight's concert at www.occasionalconcerts.net.

Yours,

Gabrielle Louise
