SIRIUS XM SPECIAL AIRS ON THE BRIDGE - SONGS AND STORIES
Im so grateful to Mary Sue Twohy and SiriusXM radio The Village for hosting me in their world class studios out in Washington D.C. last fall. It was great fun to record some solo acoustic versions of my songs and tell stories for their program. The segment airs SUNDAY, 9:15 AM ET and 11:15 PM PT on SiriusXM The Bridge ch32.
IF THE STATIC CLEARS MAKES TOP 8 RECORDS OF 2016 ON DEEP ROOTS
If the Static Clears made it into the best of 2016 (The Grade A Great 8!) at Deep Roots Magazine. It received a thoughtful and insightful review by David McGee, next to dear friend Michael Martin Murphey, who my father played with for years. I'm grateful for David's loving treatment of roots music and his support of my development as an artist.
"BIRD ON THE WIRE" RECORDED ESPECIALLY FOR CPR'S OPEN AIR!
In case you missed the airing, here's the audio from my cover of "Bird on the Wire" as heard on OpenAirCPR at the beginning of the year. David Kaye plays Dobro (don't let the photo fool you!) and Dave Fender killed it engineering. Photo by Desdemona Dallas from the Field Sessions last year.
"HIGH HEELED SHOES" LIVE VIDEO FROM THE PARADISE THEATER!
Happy to share this cover with you of "High Heeled Shoes" by John Hadley. Kevin Welch showed us this song at the Songwriter Serenade Competitionin Texas last spring and I fell in love with the imagery and cinematic essence in the writing. Here it is live at the Paradise Theatre of Paonia with Greg Schochet on mando and Jon McMillan on bass..

It's almost Valentine's Day and the music industry is full of love. Here's why: I very recently added "If the Static Clears," to Bandcamp and I just found out that they donated 100% of their profits today to the Americana Civil Liberties Union, who are working to oppose last week's Executive Order barring immigrants and refugees from seven Middle Eastern countries. Wow! I am proud to be a Bandcamp Artist! I applaud their bravery and generosity. Here is the link to my page for If the Static Clears .
I'm very happy to report that the SiriusXM Segment I taped last fall will be airing all around the United States and Canada this weekend! That is possibly the most coverage this girl has had so far, so "grateful" is really an understatement! If you listen to Sirius, tune into the Bridge ch32 on Sunday. More info at this Facebook Event .
On a personal note, I got a couple of new instruments! An amazing custom guitar that my friend Dan Wetzel of True North Bluegrass built for me, complete with a mother of pearl totem of two elephants on the headstock. They represent my little sister and I, traveling the world together. I also acquired a real upright piano! With the help of three strong friends I moved it into my place in a snowstorm! I have been sitting in a pool of sunlight every morning and playing. What a joy! New songs of all kinds are on the way.
Two special Valentines Day concerts are right around the corner - one for each slope of Colorado. Come get lovey! Or if you're reading this from the East Coast, I'm making a special trip back to perform a set at John Platt's On Your Radar Series at Rockwood next month. I am beyond thrilled to be presented at his series. It's one of the best.
Be my valentine? See you soon!
