The Gabrielle Louise Show

In This Issue:

It's all about writing and singing songs devoted to causes I care about and connecting audiences with nonprofits doing work in those fields! So far I've teamed up with organizations who protect the environment, assist Dreamers, empower women, feed the hungry, connect volunteers to seniors, and celebrate localism. Watch 9 selections from December's Made for Something More Project, which was presented at the Paradise Theater to honor CO nonprofits. We had everything from a children's choir to a trump wig and a crown. Not joking.

I spent a week in Seattle this spring with my old friend and long time engineer Tim Mitchell. We tracked 11 demos so I can start thinking about a new record sometime this year! While there we also finished up adding some layered harmony vocals on two new singles, coming this summer, and made a little live video of this song by Tim Gearan that I'd had in my head all the way to the Denver airport. Enjoy it's spontaneous exsistence!

The new live record has officially been distributed to all online stores, and within the week you'll be able to find it on itunes, spotify, and all those big business kinda places. However, it you want to support me a little more directly, you can always do that via my website, where 50% of the purchase still goes to nonprofit causes I love. Read about them, and order the CD:

Dear Friends,

This summer got off to a jump start! I ditched my smart phone and have felt very creative and connected to nature ever since. Sometimes I miss the camera but my journals are stuffed with real polaroids and poems and all the beginnings to big ideas instead! I am so happy to report that I've been gardening, making jewelry, painting, and playing the christ out of my piano! (I admit I'm glad you can't somehow hear me practicing scales over and over and over again.) New songs abound and murmers of a new record this year are starting to get louder in my little heart. I hope you'll stay tuned and come visit me at a show soon.

I'm heartwarmed to be teaming up with two great bands this summer, on their turf and mine: True North from Salem, Oregon, and Decker. from Sedona, Arizona. You can catch all three of us at the same time Friday, July 22nd at the Walnut Room in Denver. Then I'm headed to Oregon and Arizona to do it up in their hometowns as well. You won't want to miss our bills - both acts are truely steeped in artistry in their respective genres. Decker puts on a psychedelic indie rock spell and True North will make you fall in love with them (and everyone else in the room) with their folk duo romance and witty songwriting.

I'm happy to be working on a couple of singles to be released later this summer, one for the #metoo movement, written by Justin Evan Thompson, and the other an anti-fracking anthem, written by myself and Justin.  More on this front soon!

Lastly, speaking of causes, you can now see footage from the "Made for Something More Project" collected at the Paradise Theater last winter during the "Give Where You Live" fundraiser concert. Featuring nine selections from that concert, most of the songs were paired with nonprofit causes. You can read about each one and why I dedicated it to the cause I did in the Youtube liner notes. We benefitted 11 local organizations and raised many thousands of dollars that went back into the community, our theater, and our beautiful way of life in Paonia.
Live at Etown Hall is nearly available in all the digital places, but I'll give one last shout out to those that want to support music without a middle man.... go to the website! You can purchase it under the "causes" tab and 50% will go back to wonderfully good things in the world.

Thank you for supporting me all these years. You guys deserve a medal if you read this far in our ADD world. Did you know that the average American attention span has dropped to 9 seconds? That's right! Do you know a GOLDFISH has the same attention span? I'm just saying... you're more impressive than a goldfish for getting to the end.

Lots of love and see you out there!
